Hello, dear readers! Today, I thought I’d let you in on a few lesser-known facts about myself. From my love for corgis and skiing to my passion for Italian cuisine and my insatiable thirst for knowledge, here are ten things you might not know about me.
- My Heart Beats for Corgis
If you’ve been following me for a while, you’ll know that I have a soft spot for furry friends. But did you know that my heart belongs to one breed in particular? Yes, the adorable corgi! Seven years ago, I welcomed a little bundle of joy into my life: my corgi named…well…Korwyn! He’s been my loyal companion ever since and has brought so much joy into our lives with his playful antics and loving nature. - Skiing is My Passion
There’s nothing quite like the feeling of the wind against your face as you glide down a snowy slope. Skiing is more than just a hobby to me; it’s an exhilarating passion that I’ve recently had the pleasure of sharing with my son. Teaching him to ski has been one of the most rewarding experiences – from his first wobbly attempts to seeing him now confidently navigate the slopes. - Italian Cuisine is My Comfort Food
I can’t resist the allure of Italian cuisine – it’s like a warm hug on a cold day! There’s something incredibly comforting about digging into layers of cheesy lasagna or biting into perfectly cooked ravioli filled with ricotta and spinach. And let’s not forget dessert – tiramisu anyone? - Research is My Jam
Even though I’m spontaneous by nature (more on this later), when it comes to learning about specific topics, thorough research is essential for me. Whether it’s understanding the nuances of child psychology or diving deep into parenting techniques, I love immersing myself in knowledge. - Spontaneity Keeps Me Alive
Despite being meticulous in research, I’m quite spontaneous when it comes to life experiences! Be it an unplanned road trip or an impromptu dinner at a new restaurant; I believe some of life’s best moments are unplanned. - Reading Is My Escape
In between juggling parenting and work, reading provides me with much-needed respite. It opens up new worlds and perspectives while offering valuable insights on various topics – particularly. I have always been an avid reader, with a deep love for both fiction and non-fiction. I believe that books are windows to different worlds, allowing us to experience the unfamiliar and broaden our understanding of the world. My interests range from parenting guides and child brain development nuances to thrilling novels by Jo Nesbo. The former helps me to better understand my son’s growth and development, while the latter provides an exciting escape from reality. - Living Near the Seashore
Despite living near the seashore with approximately 300 days of summer each year, I surprisingly do not enjoy swimming. Most people would find this odd considering my proximity to the beach, but I’ve always preferred exploring nature on land rather than in water. - My Son’s Dislike for the Beach
Just like me, my son also dislikes the beach and sea due to sensory challenges related to autism. The sand is too itchy for him, and he finds saltwater irritating for his eyes and nose. We’ve found other ways to enjoy nature together that are more comfortable for him such as hiking or bird watching. - Believe it or not, I’ve never seen a single episode of ‘Sex in the City’ or ‘The Good Doctor.’
It’s not that I have anything against popular shows, but somehow, their characters just don’t click with me. They feel a bit too far from reality for my taste. But here’s the twist – I’m absolutely smitten with ‘Emily in Paris.’ Yes, I know, Emily’s life is just as far-fetched, but there’s something irresistibly charming about her adventures. I mean, who wouldn’t want to zip around Paris, facing life’s dramas with such flair? It’s my little guilty pleasure – don’t judge!” - My fav movie
Now, if we’re talking movies, my all-time favorite has to be ‘My Life Without Me.’ It’s a rollercoaster of emotions – heartwarming, poignant, and undeniably sad, but oh, so beautifully crafted. Each time I watch it, it’s like embarking on a journey of self-reflection and deep feelings. There’s just something magical about its storytelling that never fails to captivate me, no matter how many times I’ve seen it. It’s my go-to movie for those nights when I need a good cry and a reminder of the beauty of life.
These facts provide a glimpse into my personality and experiences – from my love for reading to living near the sea but not enjoying swimming, dealing with my son’s sensory challenges related to autism, finding solace in watching movies of reading books – all painting a picture of who I am beyond what meets the eye.
